Diolch Casnewydd – Thank you Newport for coming out and supporting the arts across the city this weekend. We’re still gathering numbers of how many people visited exactly, but from everyone involved, it’s been incredible.

This event would be nothing without the contribution of everyone taking part – a huge shout out to all the artists who shared, the venues who hosted, and all those who came.

Be sure to tag, share and tweet what you got up to this weekend – we’d love to see what you found interesting! And if you would like to give us any feedback on this weekend to help develop next year’s event, please feel free to contact

Any updates or new announcement will be shared via this website as well as our social media channels.

Croeso! Welcome!

Arts on the Hill Newport is a weekend of art and creativity on the west side of Newport featuring open houses, a swell as organised events and exhibitions. Artists can open their homes to share their work or work with partner venues and organisations to show in other places.

AOTH encourages residents of and visitors to Newport to engage with local artists and to give our partner venues and organisations an opportunity to showcase their activities and programmes over the weekend.

For a reminder of last years #AOTH2017 – see this article from the South Wales Argus website:

There’s room for all art forms with events over the weekend to be included on a printed trail map that will be available from partner venues from mid November.

Each venue showing work is the responsibility of the artist / resident to supervise and curate within boundaries that they themselves are comfortable with. You can elect to be open for a specific period within that time frame, but you must commit to the times you advertise.

You can see the area that we are focusing on for the Arts Trail is below. We will include venues that are outside of this area under the umbrella of ‘Elsewhere in Newport’. We will be asking for a participant and/or partner contribution towards print costs.
